Ashii, that does sound like correct figure. It was not until Musharaf made it a law to register the Madrissas that people actually started registering them.
Again, madrissas do not include the education given in Masjid's etc in the evening. These semi-madrassas are still teaching hate.
As far as the hate against Muslims. It has always been there. Instead of pointing fingers at West, Muslims need to figure out a way to get rid of hate amongst various sects. A shia kiling sunni(or vice versa) in the name of religion is simply wrong and unjustifiable.
