Pakistan in India Test Series - 3rd Test

India 13/1 (8.5 ov)
Pakistan
India won the toss and elected to bat first

     Pakistan team
Salman Butt, Yasir Hameed, captainYounis Khan, Mohammad Yousuf, Faisal Iqbal, Misbah-ul-Haq, wicketkeeperKamran Akmal, Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Sami, Yasir Arafat, Danish Kaneria

6.6      Shoaib Akhtar to Jaffer, no run, Dropped! short one banged in, Jaffer gets inside the line of the ball and fends it awkwardly towards the off side with an angled bat. The ball goes up in the air and hangs their for a second before descending towards gully. Mohammad Sami is late to react and can't quite wrap his hands round the ball

7.4      Mohammad Sami to Gambhir, OUT, Gone! short of a good length and outside the off stump, Gambhir feels for that one outside the off stump and only manages an edge as the ball moves away a fraction. The edge carries - that's a first in this series - and Kamran Akmal dives to his left and takes a good catch

Yasir Arafat to Dravid, OUT, short of a length and outside the off, Dravid's eyes light up and he goes for the cut. The ball bounces a touch extra and the ball goes off a thick edge to Younis at first slip who makes no mistake

India 44/2 (16.2 ov)

Posted on 12/8/2007 10:28:05 AM

Yasir Arafat to Jaffer, OUT, full and on the off, sharp swing in for Arafat, Jaffer shoulders arms to the wrong ball and is dead in the water. No doubt at all about that one and Jaffer goes. That was a serious error in judgment from a batsman in prime form
W Jaffer lbw b Yasir Arafat 17 (62b 3x4 0x6) SR: 27.41

India 51/3 (19.0 ov)

Posted on 12/8/2007 10:40:04 AM

Yasir Arafat to Laxman, OUT, just short of a good length and on the off, this one keeps a bit low, Laxman defends without quite bending low and the ball goes off the toe of the bat back onto the stumps. That is a huge wicket for Arafat and Pakistan just before lunch
VVS Laxman b Yasir Arafat 5 (10b 1x4 0x6) SR: 50.00
