FUZON TO TEAM WITH A.R. REHMAN

CLIPS FROM A RECENT INTERVIEW:

Q: The fans are anxiously waiting for your new album which we expect in Jan – Feb 2004. How is it different from the first album?

Shafqat: The second album has the same stuff like the first album but the quality in production level is a lot better. We have also added various live instruments in the new album so as to add diversity in our music. The new album incorporates projects with international artists such as Shankar Madhevi.

Q: Fuzon recently got signed by the biggest international record label. How do you feel about that and how did this come along?

Shalim: This is the key accomplishment for us as a band to be signed by the biggest record label. We are the first Pakistani band to be signed by such a big record company and that too with their debut album.
Immu: People at Virgin believe that our music can be used to make a cross-over in a market where our national language that is Urdu is not spoken. They believe that Fuzon’s music will be accepted in foreign markets as well where the audience does not know how to speak Urdu.

Q: We had heard that Fuzon was doing a song for movies?

Shalim: We had agreed to do a song for a Pakistani movie but unfortunately, we could not meet the deadline as we were on a tour. However, Virgin has hooked us up with the music maestro of India, A.R. Rehman who is quite eager to work with us. We plan to do few songs with him inshallah next year.

ALL I CAN SAY IS, WOW!!!! fuzon is the hottest band in pakistan right now, bar none.

lolz@ saying sathiya tracks bekar.....A R Rahman can compose any genre......he is not just good at classical.....recently "yuva" is another brilliant piece of work by him......no doubt fusion is very goood but working with A R Rahman is an achievement for them...not for Rahman.....thou Rahman got that brilliance after working with Nusrat fateh the legend.....

wrong tight yaar!!!!

a.r. rahman may be a good composer, but he doesn't have classical talent in his blood like shafqat!!! there is a huge difference between learning classical music (which is what ar rahman has done), and
BEING classical music (which is what shafqat IS)!

secondly, as far as a.r. rehman being able to do other genre's....shafqat is no slouch either. just look at his band fuzon!!! the only reason it SEEMS fuzon would benefit from this collaboration is because of rahman's time in the industry. fuzon has only been around for barely a year or so. but in my opinion, shafqat's talent is what will make this pair successful, mostly!

i will agree 100% tho, that a.r. rehman benefitted from working with USTAAD NFAK.

well the whole indian music indsutry has benefitted by working wid NFAK.
