theres nothing wrong with the engagement thingie, it all depends on the two people, the concept of engagement is quiet simple and decent, but these dayz ppl r scared of gettin engaged coz they r like engagement end up real fast n all, atmosphere has changed a lot, really tuff to meet upto each others demands n likes, those days r gone when parents used to make decisions, guys cant trust girls n girls cant trust guys, concept is really open and everyone knows why, and thats why i wud really go for engagement but only when if i knew the gurl before getting engaged to her, as i really respect these relations and dats how it shud b these days.
baki nothing wrong with marriage and engagement both, but arrange marriages can b very troublesome these days
so .......... its upto you, every person has his n her own way of takin things but facts r facts, not to forget
