yaar this is not the review it was movie preview before the release of the movie

i cant belive how dumb this guy is.

a review is given after you have seen a film and a preview is just telling the story in short

the reviewer has sumed it all up here.

By the same token, there are some specially well-directed scenes, such as the one depicting the death of the father. The asylum sequences have also been realistically portrayed, which is a relief, for such segments generally tend to be handled ludicrously. It is to the credit of the director, Shahzad Rafique, that the film, in spite of dwelling on morbid and highly pertinent social issues, comes through on the whole as an entertaining one. Perhaps, the fact that the producers of the film are not mere financiers but directors of calibre in their own right - Rashid Khawaja and Khalil Rana - has given it the edge that most of our films lack.
Although all the locales are mostly local - effort was made to go to challenging and breathtaking terrains such as Kargil, Khunjrab and Hunza, not to mention the deserts of Cholistan - they present such a picturesque and spectacular backdrop that one wonders why people bother with going abroad for shoots. All the songs have been beautifully picturized - particularly the theme number - and slickly choreographed. However, in spite of the fact that renowned singers such as Sonu Nigam and Abrar have lent their voices to the ditties in the film, none of the songs are exceptional, other than the theme song.

The costumes designed by Khawar Riaz are both appropriate for the scenes and pleasing to the eye. However, while Zara's make-up is skillfully done, Meera's leaves a lot to be desired, for the lass can definitely look better than she does in most of the sequences. But that does not deter her from some highly scintillating performances. In fact, Salakhain is quite bold in that there are some very sensual scenes picturized on both the leading ladies, although they have been admittedly executed with finesse. Again, the argument that there should be a rating system devised for our films cannot be stressed enough. The digital sound system and polished cinematography with exceptional frames enhance the enjoyment of watching the film, making it definitely one to look out for.

But with all its positive features, I feel that the real strength of Salakhain lies in the fact that it has dealt with a poignant subject in a very responsible manner. Films are powerful tools that can bring about social change, but in the last couple of decades they had either stopped bothering with this important role altogether or been sending disastrously wrong messages - like it is all right to kill as long as one is seeking revenge. It remains to be seen how this film is received by audiences, but this reviewer is of the opinion that after a very long time - Yeh Dil Aap Ka Hua notwithstanding - a film has been made that has the necessary ingredients to ensure success. So, if you haven't braved a local flick in a long time, this is one you should check out.

this gonna be stupid film, first coz iqbal kashmir doesn't has new equipment so the film will have bad quality, second coz there is sana, i am sorry to say, but sana is not that perfect actrice who is suited to play the role of Paro and third coz there is this ugly actor Nadeem Shah who is playing the role of Devdas and fourth i dont like moviez wich is a remake...

directors dnt use there own equipment, they rent it out. so everyone uses the same stuff.

Stars return from successful China tour

Staff Report

LAHORE: Chinese people were thrilled with the dance performances of film star Meera, Sheen, Nadia Ali and Sara Jamoot in cultural shows held in Pakistan Emba**y in China and Beijing University.

“We were not paid a single penny for our performances, except for boarding and lodging. We volunteered to go,” said Meera at a press conference on Thursday with producer turned director Shahzad Rafique and Mubasher Luqman on returning from China.

“We were praised highly by Interior Minister Faisal Saleh Hayat for our performance at the Pakistani Emba**y, where he was chief guest. The performance was attended by diplomats from various countries, VVIPs and emba**y staff.”

She quoted Mr Hayat as saying: “We wish to show the soft face of our country to the world and this troupe has done remarkably well. I wish we could send them to more countries so that people may know that Pakistan has a rich cultural heritage and that it has a very strong history in film and music.”

The 10-member delegation went on a five-day tour of China on invitation from the Pakistan Emba**y. Playback singer Anwar Rafi, choreographer Khanoo Samrat, Sohail Sheikh and Farooq Rao were also part of the delegation.

One of their performances was to a packed hall at the famous Beijing University. There other activities included a presentation to the China National Film Bureau. The director general of the bureau expressed ab interest in screening Chinese films in Pakistan and in a co-production. “As a token of their good will, the bureau also agreed to reduce the post-production charges for the films by 60 percent to facilitate Pakistani producers,” Mr Luqman said,

A memorandum of understanding was discussed between the group and the members of the bureau. The heads of the two parties agreed that a draft memorandum would be submitted by the Pakistan Emba**y in China in a week and Mr Luqman and Wong Chi of the bureau would later sign it. The draft includes agreements on co-productions between China and Pakistan with sub-titles or dubbing, exchange of artists, technicians and technology to be more frequent, and import of technology at low cost.

Asked which senior Pakistani film professionals were represented in the delegation, Ms Meera said, “We all are senior persons.”

When it was pointed out that Mr Luqman had neither produced or directed a film and Ms Sheen had never acted, she paused for a while and then replied that Mr Rafique was a senior person with films to his credit. “We participated in the official screening of Pakistani film Rukhsati, written and directed by Shahzad Rafique. The film received tremendous accolades and I and Mr Rafique were given certificates of merit by the China National Film Bureau”. The Pakistani delegation will participate in the Asian Cultural Festival in China in September.

MEERA IS LOOOKING FOR THE FIRST TIME.
