Of course, if the actor in question is Suniel Shetty, all time is action time. On-field, off-field. This time we were on location with the stars of ‘Khel’ (Suniel Shetty, Celina Jaitley and Ajay Jadeja, but minus Sunny Deol), shooting at the Canal Walk shopping mall in Cape Town, South Africa. As Suniel and Celina take a short break from shooting, Suniel is back to his pranks, dropping witty one-liners and teasing his co-stars. We caught the duo in the middle of a hilarious chit-chat.
But mind you, it’s all khel khel mein !
Suniel : “So Celina, the obvious question first: Tell me, how was it working with Fardeen?”
Celina : “Well, we know each other for a long time, so it was fun working and hanging around with him.”
Suniel : “Your on-screen chemistry looks great, but what about the off-screen chemistry?”
Celina : “We hit it off big-time as co-stars. That’s it.”
Suniel : “Yeah, the two of your look really really hot on-screen together...”
Celina : “On-screen we were two normal people made to look hot in front of the camera.”
Suniel : “Normal, meaning...?”
Celina : “Just hi, hello, bye types.”
Suniel : “You look hot in the bikini scene in ‘Janasheen’. Was it your idea, or was it Khan saab’s idea?”
Celina : “It was very much Khan saab’s idea. I chose the colour and style of the bikini with the expertise of my designer.”
Suniel : “Okay now tell me: How was it working with me? Now that’s a difficult one. Did my leg-pulling affect you?”
Celina : “It has been great working with you and this entire unit. Only, I’ve grown two inches taller.”
Suniel : “I believe you’re very fond of mussels, and that’s why you enjoy working with Sunny and me so much?”
Celina : “Ha ha ha! What do I say? Yes, I love mussels and muscular men, too!”
Suniel : “Salman, beware! Or should I say, Katrina, beware?”
Suniel: “ Between Sunny, Ajay Jadeja and me, your chemistry seems to be little extra with Ajay. Guess that’s why Ajay’s wife landed up at the shoot, huh?”
Celina: “Hey, I thought it was more with you, Suniel!”
Suniel: “ What you think is not important, what we see is important!”
Celina: “Oh...I think it’s simply the Jaitley connection.”
Suniel: “ So is it soutenly, or Jaitley?”
Celina: “It is souten ki saheli !”
Suniel: “ So that’s why Ajay’s wife has landed up here?”
Celina: “She’s there at all our shoots. C’mon Suniel, even your wife is here.”
Suniel: “ So either of the Jaitleys has to be around, eh?”
Celina : “I guess so.”
Suniel: “ Heard you wake up at 4am sharp everyday for your make-up?”
Celina: “Yes, actually by 3:45am.”
Suniel: “ (Laughing) So what time does Ajay give you a wake-up call?”
Celina: “C’mon, pleeeeeeease!”
Suniel: “ Okay, so what time does he leave?” (Laughing louder)
Celina: “What nonsense....ha...ha...ha!”
Suniel: “ Is it true that Ajay’s son calls you buaa? ”
Celina: “He does crawl up to me, but he doesn’t call me buaa”.
Suniel: “ Who? Ajay, or the child?”
Celina: “Suniel, stop it.”
Suniel: “Okay, I’ve heard all the women in South-Africa are going bare-feet?”
Celina: “Why? Bare-feet!?”
Suniel: “ You shopped all the shoes off the racks in Cape Town, didn’t you?”
Celina: “Yes, I’ve bought 11 pairs of boots and I've have been miserably spending all my money on more shoes. I already have 850 pairs of shoes stocked away at home. There’s no place in the house for me to live. My Dad’s already given me a warning: It’s either I or the shoes that can stay at home.”
Suniel: “ Is it true you like dogs a lot? You keep calling everyone ‘dog’ around here...”
Celina : “Well, it's just an expression of great love for my comrades.”
Suniel: “ Oh...That's why you keep calling Ajay ‘Dog’ every few minutes. Is that love, or is that love ?”
Celina : “I just said it is love for my comrades.”
Suniel: “ I've heard you’re playing the title role in a film?”
Celina: “Title role?”
Suniel: “ Yes, where you are the title?”
Celina: “What??”
Suniel: “ You are the title – ‘Idiot’?”
Celina: "Ha...ha...ha. That's not me. Zayed is playing the ‘Idiot’ out there.”
Suniel: “ Heard you’ve also registered ‘Stupid’ as part II and ‘Silly’ as part III?
Celina: "No it’s called just ‘Idiot’!"
Suniel: “ Oh...the first is ‘Idiot’, the sequel is ‘Just Idiot’, is it? Ha...ha...I had a store called ‘Just Kidding’ at one time."
Suniel: “ How was it working with the director, Deepak Shivdasani?”
Celina: “He's really a thinking director...”
Suniel: “ Does he shoot, or does he only think. Hey, I'm just kidding, I know he's great to work with; I've done four films with him that went on to become big hits.”
Suniel: “ How was it working with Khan saab? ”
Celina : “Who? SK, FK or ZK?”
Suniel: “ Hey, I was talking about the director of ‘Khel’, Yusuf Khan.”
Celina: “Oh Munna (Yusuf Khan), he's a real dog.”
Suniel: “ Munna says he's inspired by Raj Kapoor, who adores his actresses so much that he starts worshipping them...”
Celina: “Well, in this case the thought of worship happened too late in the day.”
Suniel: “ So what if it’s at the end of the film...as long as it continues way beyond that, right?”
Celina: “Okay Suniel, now you decide who you want me to have an affair with. Ajay, Yusuf....who else?”
Suniel: “ You tell me that. Who do you want to have an affair with?
Celina: “Maybe some Alec in Switzerland!”
Suniel : “All you see there are sheep and cows.”
Celina: “And Alec.”
Suniel: “ So in ‘Khel’, who plays what game with whom? You don't have to answer that, we don't need to reveal that now.
So just tell us about the off-field games for now...”
Celina: “All I know is that major game of cricket is being played with Suniel as the captain.”
Suniel: “ And Ajay and you are opening it, right?”
Celina: “I don't even know how to play the game!”
